Man Up

Let’s see your most manly colored projects!  From a brotherly birthday card to handsome thank you creations, show us how you can man up in crafting.

Before submitting, please take a look at these guidelines

  • Submit NEW projects that have  never been displayed on the internet.  That means, projects that have not been on your personal or company Facebook or in any forums/galleries or blogs.  If you have uploaded a photo of the project to the internet previously, it is not eligible.
  • If selected, you may share your project online 30 days AFTER the issue in which your project is featured.  No exceptions.
  • Please submit no more then TWO projects per call theme.  For this call that means no more then 14 total.  We are so thrilled on how excited you are!  But with all the submissions we receive and only two of us going through them, it is very time consuming.  It would be a great idea to wait a week before the call ends and gather your projects to pick our your best two per call theme.
  • All accepted projects must be mailed to the Designed To Color office (Colorado USA) no later then May 18th.
  • International submissions are welcome and encouraged!  But please be mindful of shipping time.
  • Keep a detailed supply list handy.  I’m talking about colors used for your image, name and company of image used, and papers.  This is very important if you get chosen to be featured.

Please send your submissions to: Submissions@DesignedToColor.com

The June/July Submission call will end April 30th 11:59PM MST.

Email subject lines must contain the theme of the call you submitting to i.e. Sketch, Man Up, Hues Who

We only need ONE photo per project.  Please take photos in a well lit area for the best quality.  You do not need a fancy, smancy camera, but taking your photos in natural light helps out tons!

Notification emails will be sent no later then May 4th.  If accepted further instructions (including shipping address and other info) will be included in this email.  So please add the above email to your contact list so it does not end up in the spam folder!!

Thank you for your interest in submitting to our magazine!  You all are amazing and keep up the inspiring work!

Hi Bev! Thank you for your interest in submitting to Designed To Color! You can use any image, any brand, any stamp for each category! We just have a separate category (anything goes) for our spotlight company which happens to be Saturated Canary/Simply Sassy for the April/May issue. I hope that helps and we look forward to seeing your creations!

      Hugs,
      Carisa

Hey Bev! With the sketch it can be anything, but it has to have a colored image on it! That’s what we are about!! Coloring in our crafting!! It can be a card or a scrapbook LO, but the focus here isn’t photos, it’s our colored images! So where it says image, make sure that it’s a color image and not a photo. I can’t wait to see what you do! Best of luck to you!!!

Just seeing this, and I’m so excited. I love to color and I love sketches, so I hope that I can come up with an idea. Are we able to submit more than one entry?

    Hi !,
Just needed to know if this call meant the use of the sketch is compulsory..or we could use our own .

The sketch is just part of our call. You can make any type of project using the sketch! As for the other parts of the call just follow those guidelines! Like for the rolled flowers, submit a project featuring rolled flowers along with a colored image. Hope that clears up some stuff for you!

    Hi there,
I am thinking about entering a submission to your call. I have never done this before so just wanted to check…do you need to have a blog/website? I don’t have a blog, as am relatively new to papercrafting and just building up skills and confidence!!
    Thanks in advance
    Amanda x

Hi Amanda! No you do not ‘need’ a blog or website. But it would be a fun thing to do! I am a blogger for over 10 years and it is truly an amazing experience. I was blogging b/4 I started craft blogging so it came as second nature to me.
But you should totally submit!! We would love to have everyone from all types of paper crafters as well as even painters submit! So please, do not let the fact that you are ‘new’ or not have a blog discourage you. Submit!!!!

Hi! I think I read somewhere that your cards have to be never seen before…does this mean we can’t post them to our blog? Thanks so much for the chance to submit!

Yes that means never be seen anywhere. Please do not post any projects that are accepted on the internet for 30 days after the issue your project is featured in, has been released. So that means, no Facebook, no blogs, no message boards, no splitcoast, nowhere on the internet. Thank you!!

What a great new magazine for all us colouring fanatics! Have loved browsing through your first issue and am even considering submitting a project…quick check, does the project have to be a card, or can it be a 3D paper project, e.g, box, etc? Thanks, Lisa x
